Expanding and Decreasing
The camel's hump is like a storage container. When camels are using their stored fat, their hump will shrink. When they eat and drink, the hump will refill again. There is a continuous process of expanding and decreasing. The same is happening when we look closer into the camel's oval-shaped red blood cells. Due to its form, it creates more elastic to the blood flow. The oval red blood cells can increase up to 200% when the camel eats and drinks.
The project is about designing a Pavilion through a concept taken from nature. The pavilion creates that feeling of expanding and decreasing from the outside and the inside. The person entering the Pavilion have to crawl on his knees to get in, decreasing his/her body height. Right after entering, the person will be able to stand up straight again until the end of the Pavilion. The Outside of the Pavilion is a distorted mirror. Making people increase and decrease when passing by the Pavilion.
