Tel-Aviv in 2050? What will it be?

This is the story of Tel-Aviv in 2050

Did you feel it? This is how Tel Aviv feels in 2050

Hot, crowded and there is an unbearable density. The process of hyper-globalization and the heavy heat load prevailing in the city caused increased activity at night. And on a quiet day, sometimes you do not even hear the soul. The heat made our lives hard. It is impossible to leave the house during the day. Even the most powerful air conditioners hardly help

You see there are the wind towers, which light up the streets for us a bit but that doesn't really help either. The heat brought a lot of mosquitoes, and they are everywhere. The municipality understood the size of the problem and took care of special nesting houses for bats that would eat the mosquitoes, such as in Gan Yaakov in Habima Square. The bat has become part of the landscape in Tel Aviv. Unfortunately, every good thing also comes with something bad. The noise they bats ... unbearable. At night it is difficult to sleep..

Depends on where in the city you live. In the Givatayim or Ramat Gan neighborhood, it is quieter, but if you live near Dizengoff. Goodluck.

And the light .. wow .. the light of that mast works almost non-stop. In the first hours of the night there is strong white lighting. During these hours the city is turbulent, there is insane density. But after a few hours the light becomes calmer in yellow, and the streets are also empty.

Not every place in the city is lit with the help of masts, on streets where there is no night activity do not need this lighting. Even in the streets inhabited by the non-liberal population. They came to live within the city for work. But still maintain closures in their company.

WE JUST WANT TO SLEEP

〰️

WE JUST WANT TO SLEEP 〰️

It seems like people are not sleeping at all. Everything happens at night. All the shops are open, the malls, the hairdressers. Everything you just need at 3 at night, will be available. Consumer culture has risen in the city.

This caused enormous amounts of waste. Before the waste tax, garbage was everywhere. Everywhere except inside the bins. Because there was no longer room for these quantities. The heavy heat scattered the awful smell of garbage in all the streets of the city,

Until the municipality introduced the waste tax and allocated a limit to the waste per resident. Each of us here gets a number of garbage bags a week and has to get by with it.

We sort the garbage by categories, each bag color by its waste type. We throw our garbage in the electronic bins with our personal waste cards. And if you consume more, you pay more.

Yes, pay more. This is what the city causes us to do. The whole city is full of international companies. There is no longer room for local businesses. It caused a lot of unemployment in the city.

Until the people and the municipality started finding solutions to it. Any place that has not been used for a certain period of time, such as Bloomfield for example, has served as a pop-up for private Tel Aviv businesses. And also, why waste space in our crowded city?

The congestion and overcrowding in the city has become so enormous that there are many places in the city with two functions. During the day for example the garden is a garden but in the evening it becomes a nightclub. No room to waste.

The parking lots in the city have been turned into offices. There are no longer any private vehicles in the city, so why not turn them into offices. If you work in a high-rise car park, you're good for life, but if you work in an underground car park, you're screwed. The air conditioners are another second alive, and the makeshift fans are just making a hole in their head. This whole city is making a hole in its head. There is everything, all the time. Except for the thing that is most precious to us. Sleeping hours.

We work non-hourly hours. The days and hours are all messed up. It's not that we have a choice with the heat and with the international companies that control the city. At least we have the sleeping capsules, so we can put our heads occasionally at work. Not only do we need this rest, the electricity also works non-stop. This is why each of us has personal lighting tailored to his needs.

But not all glitter is gold. Hot, crowded, and tiring. There is everything from everything. All the time. But what we are missing, most precious of all is some rest…
